A Grand Celebration of Pakistan’s Independence Day in Melbourne — Unity, Love and National Pride Under the Green Crescent Flag
Melbourne: A special and prestigious ceremony was held at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Melbourne to mark Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, bringing together members of the Pakistani community to celebrate their love for their homeland, national unity and patriotic spirit.
The Consulate was filled with the colours of Pakistan’s green and white flag, a strong sense of national pride, and the enthusiastic chants of “Pakistan Zindabad.” Representatives from various sections of the Pakistani community, including social and business leaders, young people and families, attended the event and shared in the celebrations of this important national occasion.
The ceremony paid tribute to the great sacrifices made for the independence of Pakistan and remembered the vision of the Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and his guiding principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to promoting a positive image of Pakistan through hard work, good character and unity among overseas Pakistanis.
The event also highlighted the strong relationship between Pakistan and Australia, while recognising the valuable contributions and achievements of the Pakistani community in Australia. Participants emphasised that Independence Day is not only an occasion for celebration, but also an important opportunity to educate younger generations about Pakistan’s history, culture, national identity and the true value of freedom.
The participation of young Pakistani Australians growing up in Melbourne was particularly meaningful, demonstrating that despite living thousands of kilometres away from their ancestral homeland, the love for Pakistan and pride in the green crescent flag continue to be passed from one generation to the next.
The ceremony concluded with prayers and best wishes for the peace, progress, prosperity and stability of Pakistan.
