Several hours later, additional CCTV footage allegedly showed the suspect leaving the hotel carrying a large black suitcase. Authorities claim he secured the suitcase to a scooter before traveling to a nearby railway area.
Later that day, police discovered the girl’s body inside the suitcase in scrubland beside the railway tracks.
Suspect Claims Self-Defence
During police questioning, Carman reportedly claimed that the teenager attempted to rob him.
According to a video released by investigators, the suspect alleged that the girl threatened him with a knife while demanding money.
He claimed that a struggle followed, during which he grabbed the knife in self-defence while restraining the girl.
