Pakistan and Jordan Strong 5-Step Gaza Peace Plan
King Abdullah II was warmly welcomed by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at Nur Khan Airbase. As soon as his aircraft entered Pakistani airspace, a formation of JF-17 Thunder jets of the Pakistan Air Force escorted the royal plane to Islamabad, a gesture symbolising the deep respect between Pakistan and Jordan. Top government officials, the First Lady, and senior leaders were also present to greet the Jordanian King. The warm hospitality reflected how strongly Pakistan and Jordan value their bilateral relationship.

Once at the Prime Minister House, King Abdullah II was given a dignified reception, complete with a guard of honour and the national anthems of both countries. The King also planted a sapling in the PM House gardens as a symbol of growing friendship between Pakistan and Jordan. Inside the building, both sides held detailed discussions about strengthening cooperation in various key areas including trade, defence, technology, education, investment, health, media and culture.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that the King’s visit was a clear reflection of the trust and brotherhood shared by Pakistan and Jordan. He emphasised that both countries have always stood by each other in difficult times, and this visit would open new doors for deeper economic and strategic cooperation. King Abdullah II praised Pakistan’s consistent support for Jordan’s role in regional affairs, particularly during the Gaza conflict and in the ongoing humanitarian challenges faced by Palestinians.
One of the most important parts of the discussion revolved around Palestine. Pakistan and Jordan have always held similar positions on the rights of the Palestinian people. Both leaders reaffirmed their zero-tolerance stance against any attempt to forcibly displace Palestinians from Gaza, whether during or after the conflict. They expressed their rejection of any plan that aims to remove Palestinians from their homeland. This united voice once again showed how closely aligned Pakistan and Jordan are when it comes to issues of justice and peace.
The two leaders also discussed the broader regional landscape, including developments in Afghanistan and India. The Prime Minister updated King Abdullah II about recent political and security changes in Pakistan’s neighbourhood. In response, the Jordanian King acknowledged Pakistan’s significant contribution to regional peace and stability. Once again, the harmony in viewpoint demonstrated how well Pakistan and Jordan understand each other’s strategic challenges.
Another major highlight of the meeting was the agreement to increase coordination among the eight Arab Islamic states working with the United States on the Gaza Ceasefire and Gaza Peace Plan signed in Sharm El-Sheikh. Pakistan and Jordan strongly believe that a durable peace in Gaza can only be achieved through united global efforts and by protecting Palestinian rights.
Senior Pakistani leaders including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Dr Musaddiq Malik were present at the ceremony. On Jordan’s side, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi represented the Kingdom. The signing ceremony marked a step forward in broadening the partnership between Pakistan and Jordan in areas that directly benefit people-to-people connections.
Later in the evening, the Pakistani Prime Minister hosted a banquet in honour of King Abdullah II and his delegation.
President Zardari also shared his thoughts during the King’s arrival, calling the visit a major turning point for Pakistan and Jordan. He said that relations between the two countries are based on shared values, historical brotherhood, and strong trust — and this visit would take the relationship to a new strategic dimension. His remarks added weight to the growing partnership between the two nations.
Throughout the two-day visit, one point remained clear: Pakistan and Jordan are committed to standing together on major global issues.
This visit revived a relationship that has always been special. From diplomatic discussions to cultural agreements, every moment reflected the strength of ties between Pakistan and Jordan. With a vision for peaceful progress and mutual respect, both nations have set a strong foundation for future cooperation.
In every aspect — political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian — the message was the same: Pakistan and Jordan stand together today, and they will continue to stand together for the years ahead
