Pakistan Mango and Multicultural Festival 2026 Welcomes More Than 20,000 Visitors in Canberra

More than 20,000 visitors gathered at Thoroughbred Park on Saturday as the Pakistan Mango & Multicultural Festival 2026 transformed Canberra into a vibrant celebration of culture, food and diversity.
Organised by the Pakistani community in Canberra in collaboration with the High Commission for Pakistan, the festival formed part of a nationwide series of mango festivals being held across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, showcasing Pakistan’s world-famous mangoes while strengthening cultural and community ties throughout Australia.
The festival was officially opened by ACT Minister for Community Services and Multiculturalism Suzanne Orr alongside Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Australia, Irfan Shaukat.
Minister Orr praised organisers for delivering one of Canberra’s largest multicultural community events, recognising the significant contribution of the Pakistani-Australian community to the ACT’s diverse and inclusive society.
High Commissioner Irfan Shaukat described the festival as a celebration of Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, saying events like these strengthen people-to-people connections between Australia and Pakistan while showcasing the positive role of the Pakistani diaspora in Australia’s multicultural success.
Visitors enjoyed fresh Pakistani mangoes, authentic traditional cuisine, cultural exhibitions, live music, family entertainment and community performances throughout the day, creating an atmosphere of friendship, inclusion and cultural exchange.
As Australia’s Pakistani community continues to grow, festivals like this are becoming an important bridge between cultures—introducing thousands of Australians to Pakistan’s traditions, hospitality and world-renowned produce while celebrating the diversity that defines modern Australia.
With thousands attending festivals across the country, the Pakistan Mango Festival has become one of the largest annual celebrations of Pakistani culture in Australia, reflecting the deepening friendship and community ties between the two nations.
